Turns out that a bunch of us are facing expiration of our wilderness first aid and cpr certifications pretty soon. I reached out to the Red Cross, American Heart Association, the Colorado Mountain Club and a third party provider in the Denver area called GoodCommpressions.com.
Write back to me with your preferred available dates and we'll set something up that fits most of our schedules. Be sure to include:
1. your preferred dates (weekend/weekday?)
2. whether you are re-certifying current certs, or need to start from scratch
Sooner is better as we're all behind the eight ball on the schedule. We'll choose dates based on consensus and make this as convenient as possible for as many people as possible.
Costs break at 12-14 students. Club saves 20% if we have more than 12 students. If you're RE-certifying current certifications, then you only need ONE day. If you're starting new, (not currently certified or expired) then the course is TWO days.
NEW certifications are $175, club pays $100, so your cost is only $75 for a two-day (16-hour) course.
RE-certifications are $100, club pays $100, so your costs are $0 for a one-day, (9-hour) course.
What a bonus to be able to say we have x-percentage of active members are also WFA certified at our site.
