Weather, road access resource

Postby jj » Thu Nov 05, 2015 1:15 pm

Colorado DOT has expanded their camera coverage and improved the interface on their web site for this.

Consequently you can view live cameras near flying sites to see if the local roads or mountains appear to be snowed in or accessible. For example, I thought that Williams might have gotten packed with snow, but the web cams near Green Mtn Res. show clear roads, and only a dusting of snow near upper launch (as of noon on Thursday 11/5). Helps determine if it is even possible to drive up to launch as winter weather approaches.

And if you can't get out to fly, at least see if there is any fresh powder near Monarch Pass.
