Re: 2015-2016 BANQUET

Benzie Thanks for posting this up for those of us that couldn't make the meeting. Looks like a lot of deserving club members earned some good awards. Wanted to say something about the Golden hammer award for hang gliding. This is an award that has been around since the club was started and has been ...

Re: Better Price and antenna UV5R radio

there are lots out there for push to talks but lately i have been using rugged radios ptt's and they seem to hold up fine with good easy connectors. I know some are even going to the Bluetooth with some good success.

Re: Friday 12 Feb?

I agree with Jim's post of landing behind the trees. It used to be the HG primary area for landing when we had power lines in the main LZ. It is a great LZ with a proper approach. It as Jim said takes good Hang 3 skills and confidence to land there. This area is best used with a figure 8 or right ha...

Re: Video Editing Software Recommendation

Eric Cyber link is very good also like Pinnacle studio. I have both and like them both. Both support a lot of formats and both will give you some great results. Probably use cyber link the most right now. But like some of the editing features of Pinnacle. Used to be a strong Avid fan but they are on...

Re: Dave's Hangglider

Hi Mark The glider is a super sport that was given to him from Mike Kozeniewski in Cheyenne about a month ago or so. Dave was going to use it to ground handle and then get a few lessons to learn get in the air on a different glider. Mike passed it on to him because he couldn't sell it (no real marke...

Re: I'm surprised a thread about this hasn't been started yet (re: USHPA membership/insurance/fees

As others have said this is nothing new and has been a long time in the works. As an instructor I am one of the pilots that gladly pays for both the Rogollo membership and also the temps. This has enabled me to both use training sites and other flying sites that I use to fly new pilots and students....

Re: Bellyache on a HG!

Great to hear you got a flight there Kim. When it was first opened Hg pilots we used to fly there quite a bit and have had some soaring flights there. Used to be flown by a local from Vail by the name of Dale a lot. Great to hear that you were able to get a good ride there.

Re: Kenosha Saturday

Ann It is not really an imaginary line between the forest service and private property. I you go out across the landing area you will find a set of brass markers in the ground denoting the Forest service line. There is plenty of room as you said to land on the forest service and then walk over to th...

Re: Glider Donation

I will inspect the glider for free it is an intermediate glider to advanced. The technology is older and remember parts are no longer easily available for this glider so if for some reason you break it you may be stuck with out parts. I take about 6 of these glider apart every year, that have gone w...

This was fantastic to watch. It really showed the quick development and how fast it unloaded a couple of times with the force it did. I can watch this over and over. Thanks Sarah

TFR

There is a TFR in place for the rocky mountain Airshow. It should not effect flying except you may need to watch for low flying jets in the area.
