Re: Kiting Safety and My Accident

Thanks for the good article. I think it’s good advice if you have to wait for a lul in the wind to kite probably shouldn’t be kiting. I also completely agree that you should never kite without a helmet. Honestly I just feel really weird anytime I’m strapped in to my gear with my helmet off

Re: Paragliding Helmets Blow

Thanks for the info Jake. The POC has no marked certifications, but lists these in the specs: CERTIFICATIONS EN 1078, CPSC 12.03, AS/NZS2063-2008 The EN1078 is a bike helmet certification. Doubt they'd ever pay for the airsport EN966 cert. They also have a MIPS version available. That's the technolo...

Paragliding Helmets Blow

I've been really unimpressed with paragliding helmets over the years. They are generally expensive and they are made from low tech, low quality, weak materials. I recently cracked a newer paragliding helmet just by stuffing it into my bag. I'd say if it is going to crack then, what's it going to do ...

Re: Why DCS?? propose DCS OFF for Lookout

JJ, I'm sure we could switch freqs from 158.400 to one of the lower USHPA ones. It would just take an organized effort to all do it at about the same time....for example....Jan 1 2018. First I think we'd have to validate that the proposed frequency was sufficiently clear of traffic. I don't know how...

Re: Let try something new...Whatsapp Chat

I agree. I think the popularity of the forum is nothing compared to what it used to be. I think good or bad, whatsapp is part of that. This is the first time I've checked the forum in many months. I have not been using the forum because I no longer get email notifications that someone has replied to...

Re: Let try something new...Whatsapp Chat

This undermines the usefulness of the Twitter feed's landing and emergency notifications. If people stop paying attention to Twitter, which they will, they will stop seeing these messages which is horrible. The only disadvantage of Twitter is....ads, and shorter tweets...but it an't so bad....a thou...

Yes you'd want to avoid what I call a double rodeo. Which is having a really turbulent flight and then landing in a herd of cows and getting dragged

No Ozone Delta 3 coming out this season

Just got word from the dealer that Ozone has announced that the D3 will not be ready this season. SUX! I will have to start a mission to find a low-time D2 or Alpina in the MS size. I'd need a new line set if I keep it. It has about 300 hours and 300 flights on it. Anyone know who is the best for su...
