Re: New P2 from Seattle Looking to Fly

There are a handful of P2s in Summit, Grand & Eagle counties. We fly the sites you mentioned plus a few more. If you have not already, get WhatsApp on your phone. I will PM you my phone number, txt me and I will get you the relevant links.

Re: Message from the Prez

Thank for the post Gary. There is a lot of wisdom in the pilot community and we all owe it ourselves, our loved ones and the future of free flight to absorb as much of it as possible. For those like me who don't live or fly in the front range, does anyone want to expand on the events of last week fo...

Re: Junction Butte Revisited 2011

I found what looks like the petition to CPW to grant the exemption for smelter. If anyone knows Randy Hughes, let me know.

Re: Yaesu FT65 Questions

Mr. Wizard, Carl Marvin, has modified my radio to operate on all paragliding frequencies. It sounded like the mod is similar to the FT60.

Azure

Below are the site notes from Eric Klammer who is local to the area and has the most familiarity with the site. Ideal conditions are light uppers and very light surface winds throughout the day. Early direct sunlight, a general south valley flow, and probably some drain off the Gore Range means most...

Re: Yaesu FT65 Questions

Thanks Fred, unfortunately, that youtube is way above my pay grade and for a slightly different unit. I would certainly end up with an expensive paper weight. Does anyone know of a radio that would work on 155.955 and other paragliding frequencies out of the box, have one for sale, know of a place t...

Yaesu FT65 Questions

I purchased a Yaesu FT-65 as suggested by my instructor. I found out this weekend that it requires a modification to work on frequencies such as 151.955 (Williams). Carl mentioned opening the back and taking out a resistor but I could not find any info on line. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
